Clay Crafting for Two! / Bowls or Tumblers
Ages: This workshop is open to adults 18+
 
The registration fee includes two participants, one clay project per person, and full access to handbuilding tools and materials.
 
Looking for a creative, fun way to spend quality time with a friend, sibling, colleague, or partner?
This handbuilding workshop lets pairs share a memorable, tactile sculpting experience. No romance required, just bring someone you enjoy!
 
No experience needed!
 
👐 Each of you will create your own handbuilt tumbler or bowl, select your project (Tumbler or Bowl) from the dropdown menu. Shaped entirely by hand, no pottery wheel. Design matching pieces or a collaborative set. A teacher will guide you step by step through sculpting, shaping, and decorating.
 
We will teach: Handbuilding Techniques
 
  • Slab building: foundation of handbuilt ceramics
  • Pinching and/or coiling: choose one or both to shape your piece
  • Carving or texturizing: optional decorative sculpting
  • Underglazing: paint with vibrant ceramic pigments
 
Your creation will be food-safe and ready for pickup in about 6 weeks after studio glazing and firing (bisque + glaze). We handle the technical steps—just bring your creativity!

Workshop Details
  • Confirmed with 4+ participants (2 pairs). Reserve your place while the course fills up.
  • Includes: materials + 1 finished piece per participant, firings (bisque + glaze).
  • Pieces ready: 6 weeks later
  • Cleanup starts: 20 minutes before end
 
Getting Ready for Your Handbuilding Experience
  • Dress in clothes you don’t mind getting messy
  • Bring an apron or old T-shirt
  • Short nails make shaping easier
  • Tie back long hair

    IMPORTANT: If you pay for a course and the course has to be cancelled by Tour Potier Studio CĂ©ramique, we will return 100% of your pay. 

     

    CANCELLATION POLICY

    All Classes are eligible for a refund if cancelled 2 weeks prior to the start date. A 20% administration fee will be charged for a refund. No refund will be offered if cancelling within 2 weeks of the class' start date, so please consider transferring your class to a friend (additional fees apply). 

    ​Missed class: (only for 2+ weeks classes):  missed classes are not refundable. In the event you miss a class you could come for up to 2 hours to the studio for independent practice (studio time), no teaching/feedback will be offered during this time but you can practice on your own.

Si vous manquez un cours, vous pouvez vous rendre au studio pour une pratique indĂ©pendante (temps de studio), aucun enseignement / feedback ne sera offert pendant cette pĂ©riode, mais vous pouvez vous exercer seul.
